One hundred and fifty miles away from Shigatse, Sakya Monastery has a history of more than 900 years, bearing the whole story of Tibet being included in China's territory.
It was Sakya dynasty in Tibet as ancient China was ruled by Yuan. Tibet has been included in China's territory after Sakya Pandita, the fourth scholar of Sakya sect and officials of Yuan being representatives of Tibet and Yuan to form alliances in Liang Zhou as deputy and its sovereign.
The relationship between Tibet and the Central Government got further enhanced through the efforts by Phakpa. Tibet's social production got development, culture and arts were prosperous due to the end of wars under the Skaya sect's reign in the period of Yuan dynasty.
