    Date:03-12-2010 Source:People Daily Online Author:
Tibetan antelopes along with other wild animals in the Hoh Xil Nature Reserve are now pregnant. The patrol team members of the Management Bureau of Wild Animal Protection in the reserve were in high spirits over the pregnancy of the Tibetan antelopes, Tibetan wild donkeys, wild yaks, Tibetan gazelles and other female animals, which are all in good condition. Wild animal numbers will continue to recover in 2010.

The reserve's 2010 winter "Operation Hurricane" launched January 1 successfully concluded at the end of February. During the activity, the patrol team solved 3 cases of illegal possession of wild animal-made products at the national priority protection level on the Qingzang Highway alone, however wild animal hunting, illegal digging, hunting and fishing and other illegal activities were not found within the reserve.

The reserve's management bureau dispatched its best patrol team on five occasions. Led by leaders of the bureau, the patrol team covered more than 6,200 kilometers, and searched the reserve's central region as well as where Qinghai, Xinjiang and Xizang provinces converge coming from the south, north and central directions, leaving no corner unturned. All protection stations dispatched a total of 236 people who patrolled and set up security checkpoints on roads 24 hours a day.
