Tibet official says "no need" now to discuss Dalai Lama reincarnation

There is no need now to discuss the issues related to the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama, Padma Choling, chairman of the Tibet autonomous regional government said here Sunday.

The chairman made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.

"The 14th Dalai Lama is still alive and it is too early to discuss this issue now," Padma Choling told hundreds of domestic and overseas journalists.
