July 13,2017--According to the region’s 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), Tibetans' average life expectancy will increase from 68.2 years in 2015 to 70 years by 2020.
The region’s per capita expenditure on public health services was raised from 27 yuan in 2010 to 50 yuan in 2015. Tibetans now enjoy free access to 45 basic health services. By 2020, Tibetans will receive medical treatment in Lhasa in case of serious illness.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, China’s inland provinces, and municipalities together with central state-owned enterprises have launched a total of 2,720 assistance projects worth 16.583 billion yuan in the region to improve Tibetans’ livelihood, especially those in impoverished areas.
