Mailing releases over 200,000 yuan minimum living allowance

In 2009, a total of 254,900 yuan had been allocated as urban minimum living allowance, which benefited 137 Tibetans from 61 households.

Meanwhile, the policies of supporting five guarantees families, medical assistance and education aids are carrying on well. 461,250 yuan had been donated for five guarantees families, 90,000 yuan for repairing houses, and 1,430,000 yuan had been used for medical treatments. The facilities and service levels in the homes for the elderly are improving as well.

During the spring famine period last year, Mailing County took various measures to purchase grinding machine, threshers and handed out butter, tea, clothes, salt and other life necessaries for local victims in 8 villages.
